Seamusfest '07 MVPs, Part 1: NanaBanana

For those of you who missed it in the comments, Nanabanana has a Seamus blog of her own. She's doing a better job at keeping it updated than we are with this one.

That's her above, taking a break from reading her Diane Mott Davidson novel to inspect The Cutest Baby In The World (tm). She has been completely invaluable -- she takes such good care of Greeba, always making sure that she has electrolyte water, rubbing her feet, and making food for her.

I wish we had more of a "village" to help us with Seamus ... unfortunately, Sandy has to leave us sometime this week. But even just for this week, having a third pair of hands around, especially such loving and compassionate ones, has been incredibly helpful. Plus, she has shown an unexpected gift for baby photography (a new career, perhaps?), and she makes us laugh.

Sandy, you are the one of the two best grandmothers in the world (actually, you're definitely the best this week; I just don't want to offend my mother).

It has been an honor to help shepard Seamus this week... and to help my baby girl... which she will always remain to me.

Just think, Granny Frannie! Soon you will be holding your newest baby grandson in your arms. And I dare say that you will probably feel some sort of deja vu upon gazing at him... he looks like a little clone of what I would imagine Jim to have looked as an infant. Somebody MUST take a photo of that first meeting for all of us to see on the blog!

This grandma is not at all offended by the well deserved kudos for Nanabanana. She has been out-of-sight wonderful! Getting there right on time, being available 24/7, helping Greta throughout the whole birth process -- and I know she's been a tremendous help as a "third pair of hands" in this first momentous week of Seamus's life. Bless you, Nanabanana!
I can't wait to get there myself and hold that beautiful boy in my own arms; but I know I can't match Sandy for worth, with my paltry couple of days in Manhattan -- as enforced by my work schedule out here. Nonetheless: you elves should think about how I can best be of help while I am there (on Feb. 14-15). And what can we bring you from CA? -- besides the love of your WestCoast family, that is?
Have things calmed down enough that we can give you a phone call in the next days?
Love, Mom

Warm snuggly feelngs on reading the last three entries - indispensible earth women, behaving cats, and beyond cute photos of Seamus. An extended family after a bambino arrives is essential. So glad you have had Nana and in the coming months - more of your village will arrive with help to offer. Keep shouting out for help and it will come your way. I continue to feel so happy whenever I remember that Seamus is here! Bizzer
