We're finally over our jetlag from this past weekend's big Blau/Soulé Hoedown And Hootenanny in the Carmel Valley [woah, check out the jello shots book ad halfway down the page. didn't see any of those in carmel valley]. There was more fun, relaxation, and joy in one another's company than I had thought possible. Caitlin and Dave duetted on the Indigo Girls' first album, Greg hit a home run, and John unveiled the mysterious Guitar Amp Of The Future. Good, clean fun all around. There were only two downers: poor Steffi had new braces and a viral infection, and I'm worried that Justin may not actually have eyes. Did he sell them to Chinese organ traffickers, perhaps?
We also got to take two rambunctious dogs to a beautiful beach, and we met a very friendly (if somewhat matted) hotel cat.

The whole experience has left me feeling extra warm and fuzzy about starting a family of our own -- and contributing a tenth cousin to the tribe!
