We drove up to Gloucester, Massachusetts this weekend to see our nephew Wes Dunn ride in a cyclocross race. It was really cool, a mix between road racing and motocross kind of. We were so proud of Wes when he came in 3rd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. The coolest person was the woman who won the women's race but decided she needed to warm up during the race before, which was the B-level men's race. She beat most of them. Way too cool. We had a great time and got to see Teri and Tris too. Very nice couple of days! Oh and Seamus got another tooth as well, so now he's up to seven!

Big thanks to Uncle Jim and Auntie Greta for driving up for two busy days of bike-racing excitement! Seamus is the MOST ADORABLE BABY! Softest cheeks ever! (I kissed them a lot.)
The weather was really glorious...autumn in New England at its best.
And yes, Lynn Bessette can ride circles around almost every male cyclist on the planet! We would also like to laud the awesome Tim Johnson, an Elite Men's racer who experienced a tire problem, had to duck out of his race and into "the pit" for repairs...and then proceeded to return to the race and sprint to the front of the pack. He came in 7th or so, but his effort and determination were so inspiring that nobody can remember who WON that race!
Cyclocross bike racing philososphy now emerges: there is no quitting in 'cross. (There is crying, but no quitting.)
And yep, it's a great spectator sport...what fun to mill around clanging a cowbell with Seamus and his parents!
Love
Auntie Teri
