Sal? He was too cool at 10! 'snot Sal's bag. As for Tony... he will be an eternal kid. We had a blast at the halloween pool party we attended. I actually won a prize for my lamo costume. (I was a cop!) Will show you pix at the shower. :- )
Wes was too cool and stayed home to hand out candy and scare little kids (we blasted the "Scary Sounds" CD on the front porch from a hidden boom box...I was so amused when the "Moaning Ghost" track included not just wails and sighs, but a muttered Gollum-esque interjection of 'Rats. Hundreds of rats. THOUSANDS of rats.' Then, without missing a beat, he returned to moaning.)
Tris was Harry Houdini. All the 4th graders had to do a Biography Book Report for the month of October and a presentation to the class on Halloween...this fun assignment always leads to good costumes. Tris was SO into Houdini, even checking out massive tomes on him from our local library's grownups section. The research had its hazards...one morning about two weeks ago, he came downstairs with his wrists bound in wire, stuck. Shawn and I joked with him (really, it was just a joke!!!), "Shall we toss you in a closet, add water, and come back in a few hours?"
Anyway, Harry Houdini reaped LOTS of Halloween candy and graciously shared with Wes when he got home.
Oh Jim and Greta, you have SO much to look forward to! ;)

The bonus is that I didn't have to buy any expensive costumes -- apparently tie-dye shirts and wetsuits are plentiful in this house.
Tonight we're going to add a big scar to his face.

But how can anyone in Santa Cruz tell that he's in costume??
:-)
I was downtown the other night and I was unable to tell if ANYONE was in costume or if they just dress that way all the time.
For example, there's this guy:

He walks verrrrrrrrry slowly down Pacific Ave, twice a day, every day, with his pink outfit and his umbrella.
He's a former NASA engineer, and now he does this.
And here's Stephanie:
God knows what she's trying to be (other than Too Cool):

Exclusivity Mr. Blau?
Sorry, Sandy ... I meant to write, "... and Tony and Sal."
:-)
So did Sal even dress up this year? Or is he too old & cool for that now?
