The Belly

Though it may be a little difficult to tell what it is at first, the picture on the right shows a bodily protrusion which houses a brand new human. Commonplace, yet difficult to believe.

Following the implicit advice of research suggesting that babies can hear and distinguish voices in the third trimester, I have been reading to The Belly from what I feel sure is its occupant's favorite book, Go, Dog, Go!. Sizzles, the Valentine's Bear, has been helping me with some of the more difficult words.

(Once again, it may be difficult to tell, but the curved, shadowy object on the left is The Belly.)

Hey Daddio!
Is that a true to life photo of my baby caring her baby? What a beatitful image! Warms this mama's heart. Ah... the part of the circle of life that sings joy and a big fat YES TO LIFE!
Always remember each night to tell Mango-boy that NanaBanana loves him!

Yes - that's my belly! We have some full-on naked ones too, but didn't know if everyone could handle THAT. I'll bring 'em to the shower for you two to see!

Dang, that's a heckuva belly!

Save the naked belly shots (hey that sounds like something you would do in college, naked belly shots!) -- you can use them to prove to Mango/Borat someday that you actually DID carry him inside you for 9 months and therefore you CAN tell him to eat his veggies or clean his room, or don't date that empty-headed girl!

Jules, I suspect that Teenage Mango will have a certain reluctance to look at naked pictures of his mom ... put yourself in his shoes!

No offense intended, Fran. :-)

Yeah - true. Although I think that would be pretty cool to see now.

According to Dave Lambert, exposure of the very young to structured music can later improve their performance at math, and maybe get 'em into Harvard. So I recommend hooking a small speaker to Mom's tummy (duct tape?) driven by a CD player with Mozart or whatever music Dave recommends.

But be careful: Muzak might suggest to Mango that he's on an elevator, causing him to jump up and down.
